HHS distributes $500 million to tribal hospitals, clinics, and urban health centers

On Friday, the Department of Wellbeing and Human Expert services announced it would distribute $five hundred million to the Indian Wellbeing Provider and tribal hospitals, clinics, and urban health and fitness centers in response to COVID-19.

At minimum 233 services throughout the Indian health and fitness technique provide as the only health care service provider for both of those Indian Wellbeing Provider beneficiaries and non- beneficiaries. Healthcare services in some cases may well be the only service provider within a day’s traveling distance for all those served.

Combined with earlier funding, this distribution provides the whole total of new sources to the Indian health and fitness technique to $two.4 billion.

WHY THIS Matters

The pandemic has disproportionately impacted Indian Wellbeing Provider suppliers and applications. There is an improved need for cash for personalized protective products and labor charges, owing to employees getting exposed to COVID-19.
