Slack Lands Biggest Customer Yet in Amazon, Shifts Calls to AWS’s “Chime”

Organization emphasises force on “multi-channels”

Slack is migrating all of its indigenous voice and video contacting capabilities on to Amazon’s Chime — a shift announced as Amazon also grow to be the enterprise collaboration application tool’s major buyer in Q1.

The shift will come amid a big surge in the use of enterprise convention and contacting equipment: Zoom, for illustration, documented a 169 percent increase in revenues to $328 million in Q1 earnings revealed this week.

(Slack unsuccessful to increase at quite the speed, with complete revenues in the initial quarter of $202 million, up fifty percent year over year).

Touting some big new enterprise buyer wins, like Verizon, Slack’s CEO was keen to set the focus on so-called “shared channels”.

“I feel Slack really will come into its individual when it is also a light-weight fabric for units integration”, CEO Stewart Butterfield instructed buyers.
