The government has once again extended the deadline to bid for Air India by two months till August 31 as the coronavirus (Covid-19) fallout has disrupted financial activities globally.
This is the 3rd time the deadline has been extended.
The divestment system for the national carrier was initiated on January 27. Issuing a corrigendum to the Expression of Curiosity (EoI) for sale of Air India, the Department of Investment and Public Asset Administration (DIPAM) stated the deadline has been extended in check out of the “request received from the IBs (intrigued bidders) in check out of the prevailing circumstance arising out of Covid-19.” Whilst issuing the EoI in January, the past date for bids was kept at March seventeen, which was afterwards extended till April 30. This was additional extended to June 30, and now till August 31.
